HRS Kicks Off Collaborative Global Series for Corporate Travel Buyers

by Suzanne Neufang

Travel managers and corporate procurement executives are often challenged when it comes to carving time to check the pulse of the industry. In North America, we’re lucky enough to have a number of events (GBTA, ACTE, local BTAs, regional BTN events) that offer educational opportunities to consider fresh trends and hear from our peers on interesting panels. Many global corporate travel observers look at the list of events in North America with a jealous eye, wishing there were more scenarios for travel management professionals on other continents to further their knowledge of best practices and take new tactics back to the home office.

HRS is doing its part to help drive more industry education and peer collaboration. We held our first series of Corporate Travel Forums in 2015; this year we will host seven one-day events, beginning today in Berlin. Corporate Travel forumThe CTF series provides travel buyers, procurement executives, travel managers, and select industry experts the opportunity to discuss trends across the entire travel management ecosystem. More than 1,300 travel managers and industry leaders participated in the CTF events that took place in 2016.

Today’s CTF event in Berlin, titled “Search. Book. Pay. Stay in Control,” featured Germany’s former finance minister discussing the challenges facing Europe, highlighted by the ongoing ripple effects caused by Brexit. His comments set the stage for a day-long conversation focused on the evolution of business travel. Topics on CTF agendas focused on strategic travel and meeting category management, end to end process, pertinent local issues, holistic spend optimization and innovation.
